Health and fitness has been my passion for as long as I can remember. My fitness journey started when I was about 8 years old and I first discovered a dumbbell. I would sneak into my mom's room to grab her 5lb weights and curl them like a mad man because I saw someone do it on tv. It made me feel tough and confident. I was hooked.. At 19 I got my first fitness job working the front desk of an LA Fitness, at 21 I became a personal trainer at Gold's Gym, at 25 I was the general manager of that Gold's, at 26 I was running multiple Gold's and overseeing the personal training department, and now today I run Mind and Matter, my own fitness business. With over 20 years of personal and professional experience I have been blessed with the opportunity to see thousands of people positively change their lives. It's been an amazing journey thus far, but for me it's far from over! As a NASM certified personal trainer/nutrition coach I have continued my pursuit to help men build undeniable physiques they can be proud of. I focus on developing an individualized integrated approach that optimizes fitness and nutrition to get long lasting, sustainable results. Beyond the gym, my life's a dynamic journey. Balancing the unpredictability of working on-call as a locomotive engineer, being a single parent, and running my own business, I’ve had to master the art of time management and learned the importance of commitment. From this firsthand experience, I have positioned myself in an ideal spot to help others who lead a similar lifestyle. Success isn't just about personal records though; it's about showing up, even when life throws you curve balls and my journey isn't without its scars. I've faced personal traumas head-on, using them as stepping stones to emerge stronger than before. It's these battles that have equipped me with a unique ability to guide you through your own challenges and overcome barriers that may have once seemed impossible.
